EKU’s Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology prepares you to become an expert on how to prevent fires, and reduce the damage and danger that occurs when a fire does break out. 

The courses in the program include a broad-based study of fire science with an emphasis on fire dynamics and fire protection systems and design.  The Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology degree also has a strong background in science and math.  This program is right for you if you are interested in providing safer working and living environments by learning how a fire behaves, the best methods to prevent fires and how to minimize a fire’s impact on its surroundings.

The combination of what you learn in the classroom at EKU and the experience you’ll gain through internships, co-ops and your first job will make you very valuable to the industry.
