Eastern Kentucky University professor Dr. Scotty Dunlap’s passion for public safety and emergency management lead him to an unusual place, Frametown, West Virginia, for an unusual activity, producing a half hour documentary about a group of female volunteer firefighters in what has traditionally been a male-dominated field.

Kayla Tunajek is a Senior in the Fire, Arson, and Explosion Investigation program and recently attended the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) annual training conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. This conference took place April 9-14th and covered a wide range of topics used by fire investigators in the field.

EKU Online Student and O'Neil Inc Wins SIEMENS Award for Fire and Life Safety Design

An Eastern Kentucky University Online fire protection and safety engineering technology student was among the winners of the fourth annual Siemens Engineering Innovation Award for fire and life safety design. Tom Goss accepted the honor at Fenway Park in Boston during the recent annual conference of the National Fire Protection Association.
